The Vancouver-based singer songwriter Syd Carter West is a musical force to be reckoned with. The creative powerhouse harkens back to 70s Rock and Roll while fusing elements of Blues and Americana. 

Syd’s history is infused with everything music. At the young age of twelve she was an opera student with vocal training and music theory studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music. This ignited the fire in Syd that is deeply apparent with her stage presence and resounding voice.

Drawn to the art of storytelling, Syd’s music is designed to connect and resonate with listeners. Her emotive voice, poignant lyrics and powerful stage presence makes her sound truly unforgettable. Her material also shines a light on the injustices towards marginalized communities and the importance of activism.  
With a series of impressive singles and excellent covers under her belt Syd is about to release something extraordinary. The soon to be released “Letters to a Narcissist” is a profoundly personal full length record. The album is an autobiographical journey that explores difficult themes while creating awareness and inspiring hope. 
Syd just dropped the stunning music video for her cover of “Fake Plastic Trees” (see below) by the one and only Radiohead that clearly demonstrates her unyielding talent. Stay tuned for everything Syd Carter West has to offer as she is certainly one to watch.
